Sai's Life and teachings

Dear Friends,
You have ,no doubt, seen pictures of Sai Baba ,the grandfather-like figure sitting on  a stone seat with torn jibba or kafni like the picture shown above..You will find his temple almost in every city ,within a radius of 10 kms,inIndia.
Shirdi Sai Baba was not born in Shirdi. He came to Shirdi ,as a boy of, perhaps 20 years, and stayed for the rest of his life.
Shirdi was a small village, now a big town, in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra State, about 200 Kms from Mumbai, about 70kms from Nashik.
No one knows where Baba was born or his year of birth. There are different views about this by  scholars and writers..most of the information is hearsay and unreliable.Again no one knows whether He was born a Muslim or  a Hindu...there are many stories...Don't waste your time over all that.!
Baba is beyond religion...He is an Avatar or Supreme Being.....You can take Him as a great saint---if you like...For me,Shirdi Sai Baba is the Satguru and Avatar--- like Rama or Krishna---this ,of course, is a personal opinion and belief.

Shirdi Baba led a simple life of a fakir. He had no home.He stayed in a dilapidated mosque. He wrote no books. He built no ashram or matha[ monastery].He did not appoint any successor....no monastic order. He never left Shirdi for nearly 50 years.[Look at modern day gurus and swamis, living in lap of luxuries, jetsetting all the time!!]
He protected and protects now also, all His devotees.Just think of Him---that will do ----Like Lord Krishna said in the Gita, you can worship Him with a flower, a leaf and even a drop of water.Only your devotion matters!
Baba attained Mahasamadhi in 1918 on the Vijayadasami day --in Dussera festivals.
One wonders what is the glory of Sai Baba.My answer is simple. He loved and brought all people together...whether Hindu,Muslim,Sikh,Christian, Parsee---people of all faiths were equally welcomed by Him.Rich or poor, healthy or sick----all received His Grace. He did not show any of the caste/religious prejudices of lesser religious heads and preachers/acharyas....He always said:"Allah Malik,Allah Acha karega"....He was the servant of the Supreme Being, call Allah,Rama,Krishna and so on.He served the poor;prepared food by his bare hands [literally].He nursed a leper devotee,Bagoji Rao, whose face appears in the familiar photo of Baba walking with an umbrella. He loved animals and protected them---even a sick ,dying tiger!
There are many who claim to be reincarnations or later versions of Baba.It is a waste of time to believe in all these claims and worship self-styled Gurus, prophets and Babas. It is easy to entice people with minor tricks or psychic powers. Many Babas will come and go,but the Grace of Shirdi Baba is always there.
Shirdi is a holy place. Please do try to visit at least once.If you sincerely pray that you should visit His Samadhi shrine, Baba will arrange everything for you! Meanwhile, visit a local Sai Baba temple and pray earnestly.
There is a nice english book called "Sai Sat Charita' written in English prose by N V Gunaji, a rendering of Hemadpant's book in Marathi verses. It costs only Rs 20/- from Sri Sai Sansthan,Shirdi. It is the Bible for Sai devotees;read at least a few pages. There are translations available in many languages.....Check Baba websites for free reading and songs.
Chant the mantra: 'OM SAI, SRI SAI JAI JAI SAI'
         'Charanam Charanam Sri Sainatha'

Shraddha & Saburi

Sai emphazied two things: faith in Sai[Shraddha] and patience or endurance[Saburi] ;He will take care of all your problems.Sai does miracles in the personal lives of millions of people even today ...as He did when he lived in flesh...
He has a peculiar power of attracting His devotees, like a sparrow with a string tied to its leg. What does Sai demand from u? .Love all beings equally and well----including birds and animals.
Sai advocated simple forms of worship: It is enough to see his picture and chant "Sai,Sai'.
Lord Krishna said: 'Samatvam yoga Ucchate' ----Great is the Yoga of Equanimity...this should be the guiding  principle  of  Sai devotees. It is not easy to practise...Lord Sainath knows that...and He will guide us always.

Sai Movement--SAISM

Friends,
Sai Movement refers to the increasing activity of temple building and service programs centered around Shirdi Sai throughout the world. As you all know, literally hundreds of temples have been built in India and dozens of temples in USA,Australia,UK and so on.
Each temple usually has a marble image of Baba and other structures, with some rituals every day. What is more, every Sai  temple in India does lot of social work: free medical dispensary, anna dhana [poor feeding], mid-day meals scheme for school children, medical camps and so on.Many young boys & girls take up voluntary work. The Sai temples extend such service to all---irrespective of caste and religion. This is the real force of Sai Movement. Thus this movement gradually removes religious and caste prejudices from the devotee's mind, especially among the young.

In states like Andhra Pradesh, every town has a number of such temples.
The Love for Shirdi Sai Baba grows in our hearts by this movement. It is enough if one looks at a picture of Sai and Chant "Sai,Sai";no elaborate ritual is required.
The  Samadhi Shrine in Shirdi attracts nearly 40000 devotees every day, more on Thursdays and festival days.

The temple town Shirdi has modern amenities. When I visited first in 1982,we had very dirty lodges and a few tea shops and dhabas,no proper roads. From a village ,it has transformed into a small town.It has a railway station called "Sainagar"... and rail links with Mumbai ,bangalore ,Chennai and other towns directly.it may have an airport soon.

Sai Sansthan in Shirdi is one of the richest temples in India. It has a large hospital for local people and pilgrims. In the last year, the temple adorned a golden tower or gopuram and also received  a beautiful 'golden throne' for Sain Maharaj.

How to reach Shirdi?-- 'A New Train from Mumbai to Shirdi'

You can reach by road from Mumbai ( Bombay) [about 6 hours],from Pune [about 5 hours]or  from Nasik [about 2 hours].
[You can also reach by train to Manmad or Kopergaon and take the road. It is about 18km from Kopargaon...Check the trains going to Delhi which pass  thru Manmad junction/Kopargaon.For those from Chennai or Bangalore, the Karnataka Express/TamilNadu Express, bound for Delhi,is convenient.]

{The train journey from Chennai or Bangalore takes about 24 hours ,just one full day.Flight to Mumbai or Pune and from there by Road to Shirdi will take about 12 hours.]

From 1st march 2009, there is  a direct train  from Mumbai to Shirdi, new track and new railway station--a project started two years ago.The railway station--"Sainagar" is about 3 Km from the Samadhi Mandir.

Details: departure [from CST/VT station] : 10 .55PM    Arrival: Shirdi: 10.30 AM [a passenger train for a distance of 457Km]

              Departure : Shirdi : 4.40PM -------Arrival ; Mumbai CST/VT: 4.25 AM

You can reach Mumbai or Pune by flight and take the road/train..Overnight buses from Mumbai to Shirdi are very convenient...try them.See about summer special trains from Bangalore and Chennai down in this page.

Festivals in Shirdi Four festivals are celebrated with pomp in Shirdi Baba Shrine: Sri Ramanavami[Sri Rama's birthday], Gokulashtami[Krishna's birthday],Guru poornima [Full moon day in Chitra month] and Vijayadasami day [Mahasamadhi day].Processions are taken out.

Shirdi  Today

I visited Shirdi , on 12th June 2008-- a thursday. The surging crowd of devotees after about 9 AM was over-whelming to see...Things can be improved a lot by controlling the road traffic near the temple and perhaps ,providing better and planned parking spaces....It is important to let cars be parked away from the temple, and only let buses to pass through in the Manmad Road.
Devotees were seen placing their chappals/sandals/shoes every where,in heaps...A better scheme to leave chappals could be devised....The small vendors in the Pimpalwadi Road may be located at some distance so that the devotees can easily walk to the temple. The vans picking up passengers could be kept away...
Yet , the crowd was orderly and a smooth stream of devotees pass through the Samadhi Mandir...no frayed nerves and arguments that we see in other crowded places in India......The Sansthan deserves the credit for keeping the inside of the temple clean and removing the coffee canteen and 'laddu' sweet counter outside.More water taps inside the temple would help. The sansthan should be praised for the upkeep of the temple. The sansthan can build a few lounges where devotees can rest a while, like the Railway Station waiting rooms, outside the Mandir. Some more facilities for senior citizens could be helpful.. ....
The New Golden Throne for Sai Maharaj is just beautiful, in the background of Red Satin at the back.
Many new lodges are being built along the Ma
nmad Road...[I still feel that there is space for tree planting along Manmad Road and Pimpalwadi Road by local groups, using school/college students and a nice large  "Sai Park"  in Shirdi.]   Hope with Sai's Grace, things will improve in this temple town, where nearly 40 to 50 thousand people visit every day.The numberwill grow now with the direct rail connection and the "Sainagar" railway station.

An unplanned growth of Shirdi town should be avoided, with large number of shops and lodges close to the temple...A large library and a 'patashala' [school for Sanskrit studies ,for young and old,]would improve the city.

Daily Poojas at Shirdi

The four main 'arati's [waving of lamp], preceded by chanting mantras and hymns [in Marathi and Sanskrit] , is the main form of worship at Shirdi Samadhi Mandir. The aratis are held: 1 early morning [kakad] at 5 AM,2 Noon arati [madhyam]at 12 noon,3 Evening Sunset [Dhoop] arati at sunset time 4 night arati [Shej] at 9PM...each arati takes about an hour ...the devotee should attend at least one arati in a day....
The tradition of Pandharpur is followed here in Shirdi too.
Samadhi Mandir is a strange place in that we have the tomb of Shirdi Sainath; right behind that, a marble image of Sainath for which the rituals in Hindu tradition[suprabatham, abhishek (ceremonial bath) naivedya (food offering) and waving of lamps (arati) are performed. At night ,the image is given the rituals for sleep, including a covering  of mosquito net.
Sathyanarayana  pooja:Couples can perform Sathya narayana  pooja in a hall near the Samadhi mandir for a small fee.All materials are provided.
Security measures have been enforced for entering the temple.Do not carry handbags/cameras etc...carry only water bottle.
There is a bhojanalaya that provides food at Rs 5/= only from 10 AM to 10 PM. About 10000 to 15000 pilgrims take sumptuous lunch there.
There is a small museum, close to the book stall and what was formerly Dixit Wada--You find old pictures and lot of objects and artifacts used by Baba..spend a few minutes there.

Where to stay in Shirdi?

Sri Sai Sansthan provides rooms at very nominal rent ---
There are budget hotels/lodges in plenty with rent ranging from Rs 200 per day to Rs 1500 or more per day---.
There is 'Sai Nivas",run by the Sansthan itself, which provides rooms.
If you need luxury, deluxe rooms, there are three star hotels and other major hotel chains there.
Often you can get rooms without prior booking in these lodges. Many have built apartment homes for rental.
There is a small, modern hospital in Shirdi, run by the Sansthan and a number of private doctors and medical shops.

Sai Savants

There are many websites devoted to Shirdi Sai...See them for book downloads and audio files....One site you should visit is that of 'Heritage of Shirdi Sai' website...---associated with Shri C B Satpathy who is credited with  building of hundreds of Sai temples in India and abroad.
There had been several pious, sincere savants who had built Sai temples and groups to spread the Sai devotion.A few of them are: HH B V Narasimhaswamiji [All India Sai Samaj,Mylapore,Chennai],HH Radhakrishna Swamiji [Sai Spiritual centre,Bangalore] Swami Sai Sharan Anand [ Ahmedabad] Swami Keshaviah [Chennai]Acharya E Bharadwaj [Ongole,Andhra],Ammula Sambasiva Rao, Chandra Banu Satpathy [New Delhi]Satya Pal Ruhela [a writer and organiser],Sri Anand Sai [Nagpur] Rabindranath Kakarya and Dr.Vinny Chitluri [writer]--among others. They all have written books on Sai which form a large body of Sai literature.Millions are drawn to Shirdi Sai Baba through their efforts and lives. There are two movies and some DVD's on Sai's life.
Sai Leela magazine from Shirdi Sansthan and several magazines on Sai are available.

Great Devotees of Sai

I list here a few names of great devotees of Sai who were serving Sai in his time and who built the Sai movement and culture as we know today....this in indeed a partial list:
--Upasani Baba Maharaj---a brahmin follower of great attainment who later settled in Sakori, 5 kms from Shirdi
---Hari Sitaram Dixit--- Aa solicitor from Mumbai,he helped to found the Sai Sansthan
---Annasaheb Dabholkar, aka Hemadpant ,who was the instrument to write 'Sai sat Charita'
---Nanasaheb Chandorkar
---Madhavrao Deshpande [Shama]--a school teacher in Shirdi;he was very clsoe to Sai!
---Tatya Patel
---Das Ganu Maharaj [Sahasrabuddhe] ---the constable, given to acting in baudy street plays, who turned into a kirtahnkar/poet
---G S Khaparde---the wealthy advocate from Amraoti
---Mhalasapathi--th eone who welcomed and called Sai "Ao Sai" in Khandoba Temple
--- Gopal Rao Bhuti ---the millionaire textile mill owner from Nagpur who built the wada that became the Samadhi Shrine

--- Abdul Baba---who noted in Urdu Baba's utterances explaining Koran and other texts
---- Chandrabai  Borkar
---M W Pradhan
----Imambai Chota Khan
----G K Rege
----- Shivamma Thayee [who lived later years in Bangalore]
You will find the pictures of many of these devotees in the hall in front of Sai's image in Samadhi mandir.

SIVANESAN SWAMI:  Sivanesan was a humble devotee of Shri Sainath. He came from Tamil Nadu;with very little formal schooling,he served as porter in Mumbai railway stations. One day, with burning dispassion,he walked towards Shirdi and spent the rest of the life there. He used to clean the Dwarkamai and other places. He occupied a small room nearby.Towards the end of his life a few years ago, many sought his blessings.Apparently he could guide many in the name of Sai.There are many such quiet, unknown devotees of Sai who are spreading Sai's Light.

Recent Sai temples

It is almost impossible to list all the temples of Shirdi Sai, in India and abroad.I shall write about some of the recent ones.
In Feb 2008, a temple was consecrated in Los Angeles.
Two recent temples ,built after 2000 in Chennai are : temple in Injambakkam in theMahabalipuram road, a few km from Thruvanmiyur. This temple is located on the sea beach, with beautiful surroundings....for prayer and reflection. Another temple built in 2002 is the "Anna Sai Temple" in Poonamali High Road, near Poonamalee. This temple was inspired by Baba himself through Mr Kumar who was music director living in Ashok Nagar,Chennai.[Kumar is titled as 'Kumar Baba' by his admirers and devotees of Sai Baba.].
In Bangalore, a temple was consecrated in Aug 2007 in Jalahalli, near the Air Force Station.Earlier a large temple was built in Vasanthapura, by Sai Spiritual Centre.

The  new temple for Shirdi Sai,called "Akshara Sai temple" was  consecrated last month in the sacred temple town of Arunachala--Thiruvannamalai--in the Girivalam road where lakhs of pilgrims walk around  the holy hill ...It is in  Adi Annamalai village..I participated in the mandala puja completion on 17th June 2009,following Kumbabhisekham 46 days ago.The temple was flodded with flowers and Baba's murthy and the dais was tastefullu decorated with flowers--a grand sight..Thiruvannamalai is the home of Ramana Asramam, Seshadri swamigal ashram and that of Ramsuratkumar[visiri (fan) swami]The town already attracts millions of devotees and thousands of foreign seekers every year...The Sai temple will be a major attrraction to devotees from all parts of India.

I am informed that another new Sai temple is coming up in Thruvannamalai...The visitors to this temple town are "twice blesed" by Sainath.

Some more temples are being planned now--especially one in West Bengal. One may think of a Sai temple with ashram-like structure with rooms for the devout to stay for a few days[say, for a week] and bhajan halls and meditation halls. Many retired persons would like to stay in such places of simplicity, quietness and contemplative atmosphere.

Several trusts and foundations are formed to propagate Sai's teachings and have worship/satsangh and other activities: for instance: Shirdi Sai Foundation at Agaram_Perambur ,Chennai started by Dr D Arulneyam.

New Temple in Dehra Dun: During my recent trip to Haridwar/Rishikesh, I also visited Dehradun during which I travelled to Sahastradara, a place 20 km from Dehradun with small water falls.Nearby, at the top of a large mountain, amidst green mountains of Shivalik [Himalayan]  range, one finds a new beautiful Shirdi Sai temple with a marble statue.A pious Mahrashtrian priest was doing the puja. The temple is at very great height ,but a cable ropeway-cable car has been built with Rs 80/- for taking you up and down...What a magnificent sight there,Baba nestled in the Himalayan misty heights...If you travel in that side ,please do visit this Sai temple.

Sufi Connection

Was Shirdi Sai Baba a Sufi saint?---most probably --yes.Sufism spread from Afghanistan to India through Rajasthan,Gujarat, and Maharashtra.Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti, the great Sufi master spread Sufism in India from his seat in Ajmer. Next Hazrat Nizamuddin, a disciple of Chisti, in Delhi trained many Sufi masters who spread throughout India. It spread to Aurangabad /Hyderabad region.Baba might have been initiated into this tradition when he was living with a master in Aurangabad or in previous births----who knows?
Like a typical Sufi master, Baba did not build an ashram, moved from place to place without a home or write a book..When asked for mantra diksha by a lady, Baba remarked that His traditions are different and he would not give/ blow mantra in the ears.!The training he received and the exercise of his being put upside down in a well, mentioned in 'Sai Sat Charita', is a typical ordeal given by Sufi teachers to chelas  in middle ages---10 to 13 th century.Marriane Warren has written a long book---her Ph D work in Toronto--in trying to establish the Sufi connection. But Baba outgrew any particular tradition[ Sampradaya]...He was beyond being a Sufi saint.!
[Likewise some have tried to establish a connection with Nanvanatha tradition and Dattatreya tradition for Sain Maharaj. Who can 'define' His tradition!!Let it be so!]

The Chanting of  Sai's name

The other Sadhanas, namely , Yoga, yaga {sacrifice} Dhyana and Dharana (concentration) are very difficult to practice, but singing and hearing the stories and the glory of Lord Sai Baba is very easy.         ----- Sai Satcharita.

This website was started mainly for SAI devotions on 5th Feb 2008...Just a year ago. I wish to add this message now:

You have to know two things  about Sai devotions:

1 Chant "OM Sai,OM Sai" whenever and wherever you can....If you feel depressed or worried ,start chanting at least for a few minutes.!

2 Never, Never,Never underrate Sai's blessings and grace on you and His ways to protect and help you and give you wonderful things in this life and in the life beyond...

 In Sai Smaran,

Srinivasan Nenmeli K [N K Srinivasan]

" Always glorifying Me,striving firm in vows, prostrating before Me, and always steadfast, they worship Me with devotion."

   ----Bhagavad Gita-9-14

Sainath emphasized the chanting of Vishnu Sahasranama [Thousand Names of Lord Vishnu]. This is chanted regularly, every day , in almost all Sai temples throughout the world.Sai told that chanting this will cure many ailments in us.

SAI  &  the Upanishad

'Isavasya Upanishad'  is the shortest and most profound Upanishad, consisting of only18 verses, from Yajur Veda.It is a mantro-upanishad drawn from Samhita portion or hymns of the Veda. Das Ganu, who wanted to translate this into marathi verse, could not grasp the import of this short Upanishad. His draft translation did not satisfy him.He went to Baba and asked Him to instruct him.Baba, instead of giving lengthy explanation, asked Das Ganu to stay with Dixit in his apartment in Mumbai and learn from Dixit's servant maid girl. How could that illiterate little girl teach him? ----Well, the girl had the right mental attitude towards life, exemplifying the teaching of this Upanishad.
This Upanishad starts with  the statement: 'Everything is pervaded or clothed by the Lord or Isa.....Enjoy what is given to you.Ready to renounce everything and be free and happy.....at the same time ,do your work/duty without selfish behaviour....If you do that, whom will you  hate?.{instead you will love everyone."
and so on....
Baba introduced this Upanishad in a direct manner to Das Ganu, and through this account ,to all of us.....Read Chapter 20 of "Sai Satcharita" compiled by N V Gunaji [in English or any other language.}with devotion.

Sai and How He teaches?

While Sai did talk about formless god and Advaita, he mainly emphasized Bhakti or Devotional path.In His younger days, he used to sing and dance in ecstasy, wearing ankle bells...We have less information on those days because bulk of what you read now was gathered in the last ten years of His earthly life,---from 1908 to 1918.
Sai Baba repeatedly told to worship His form and chant His name "Sai,Sai' ---that will do.He allowed His devotees to worship in elaborate ways ,just to satisfy their desires---but remained the same old fakir.---In Sufi tradition, he emphasized 'constant remembrance of God"......His aim apparently was to simplify the methods for modern people ,struggling in this fast-paced, tension ridden lifestyle.....
How does Sai teaches us? Sai did not write books or give long discourses....He taught giving us 'experiences" ---then and now....I lost my long time friend of 20 years last week...this friend---Krishna, visited Shirdi on 12th June 2008..I was also there. But we did not meet...while I was traveling from Shirdi towards Mumbai by bus, he called me over the mobile phone and we spoke....Next thursday, that is ,on 19th,June 2008,he died early morning at 6 AM in Ahmed Nagar...I was in Bangalore and cried much...Rarely I cry...this time I was uncontrollable...why? ---I recalled Sain Maharaj cried bitterly when Megha passed away, during the funeral procession....Why should Avadhuta/sage like Sain Maharaj cry...to tell us that it is alright to express emotions ...we are just human...This shocking incident of losing a friend was a big lesson...these are means of purifying our minds!--that is all....this is the way Sai teaches us...by experiences in our lives....He gives us experiences---sweet and bitter--- to turn us towards the Supreme---towards Him....

Sai does give certain painful experiences;he knows that we suffer on those occasions. Why this? Such experiences are the ways in which our past bad karmas are slowly eliminated.WE have to bear them with Sai's words on our lips..In Hindu tradition ,there is a belief that great saints can purify us,remove our karma through our dreams.Sai has appeared in the dreams of many devotees---not just to instruct or inform, but in most cases,to cleanse the mind.Is it not easy to clean our minds when it is relatively calm and not perturbed by waking experiences.? In all such moments, Baba would expect us to bear our experiences with patience-'Saburi'.

There was a time when I used to get frustrated or depressed that Sai gives so many trials and pain in this life.Though ,in course of time, everything gets resolved nicely, there are days and weeks when we go through pain and suffering. Then I used to get angry with Divine Father, Sainath...But not any more...If Baba gives trails and suffering there is an inner meaning for that...He wants me to experience certain things and get mentally purified to some extent...well--that is what Sainath's ministry means to me. We have taken birth to learn lessons from Sai...Let us do it with a cheerful heart.

Sai Sat Charita-- The sacred book in English by N V Gunaji, adopted from the marathi poetic work by Hemadpant is verily a Bible for us.I sometimes get distracted by Gunaji's detailed references to the devotees---"x is mamlatdar of this taluk, that district" ---such descriptions which was relevant 70 years ago, particularly for Maharashtrian readers....so I tried to condense the work further by removing such details and making the sentences more direct.I could easily reduce to about 80 handwritten pages which I use for daily reading.

"Sat Charita"  contains many wonderful philosophical teachings and much of Hindu spiritual lore....Indeed Sat Charita is an "OCEAN OF SPIRITUALITY".....Much scriptural knowledge of our Hindu tradition is told in simple and clear terms. So ,one should read Sat Charita over and over again.! Please don't fail in this. If you read for one week ,taking a vow ,called Saptaham, that is good...Slowly and surely , your faith in Sai and His Grace will be strengthened. As Hemadpant himself says: " The easiest Sadhana to cross the ocean of Sansar, to gain Self-realization is to listen to the stories of SAI" ---Keep this in mind, My friends and Sai Bandhus.!

" My Life's fulfillment is in thinking, speaking, singing and praising of Your Glory---Lord Sainath Maharaj"

                                                                                               --N K Srinivasan

Sai Baba as Karma Yogi

Shirdi Sainath taught karma yoga by his own exemplary work..He was no armchair philosopher or Himalayan yogi in a cave-- away from mundane life...He moved among the common village folk of Shirdi....ealed them, warned them and counseled them and showered Grace on them

He used to cook food with his bare hands in a large handi or vessel for 50 to 100 persons and feed the poor..He renovated temples...Maruthi temple ,for instance.. He tended a garden with basil or tulasi plants..He used to carry potful of water from nearby streams to water the plants even in advanced age....He ground grains using a hand mill, kept in the Dwarakamai or Masjid....Let modern day yogis and gurus take a lesson or two from Sainath...

From various anecdotes, I tend to believe in this..Many have attempted to reach Shirdi, but could not because Sai Baba had not called them...When the time comes, you will reach Shirdi without much effort...He will drag you, like a boy pulling a sparrow with thread tied to its leg...But keep praying for a visit/pilgrimage to Shirdi. Meanwhile visit local Sai temples.

12 When we visit Shirdi, how we take leave of Him?

We are told that when Baba was in physical form, no devotee would leave Shirdi  without His permission..Since Baba knew the future events that would befall,He would guide a devotee to stay longer or leave later....Now, what we do is to pray at the Samadhi Mandir and ask for his permisson to leave mentally..Sai will do the rest.

13 What are the important places to pray or meditate in the temple complex?

Besides the Samadhi temple, the two sacred places are  Dwarkamai or the masjid where Baba lived for more than 50 years and the Chavadi where he used to sleep on altenate days...Pray at the Maruthi temple and the cluster of Ganesha,Shiva and Sani temples.

Sai Baba--The Treasure Trove

Sai Baba is the rich, loving Father for His devotees....there is no limitation or lack in his mansions....Ask for whatever you want with full faith in Him...He will provide in quick time----Ask for house,business,friends,marriage---whatever---good health---He will provide ---Ask and He gives!---It is that simple---.Dont worry about how it will work out...Sai will ARRANGE EVERYTHING FOR YOU ----Believe in this....Pour out your heart!

I may sound like a New Age Preacher in this... You may not like me for writing this...but believe me---Sai never fails...Sai did miracles for His devotees during His earthly life....He does now also.....Have firm faith in Him...

One thing is important...Do not think of bad thoughts towards others!---Secondly, give  charity as much as you can....Sain Maharaj will provide all that you want....We are His children....What more can I say?......Ask and He gives!

New age philosophers give and build tortuous, complicated reasoning to prove how affirmations and law of attraction work...For Sai devotees ,the method is simple and straightforward....

It is gratifying to note that of all the pages in this website, this page devoted to Sain Maharaj is the most visited one...almost 60 % of visitors see this page only ---roughly 500 to 600 persons every month.

If you have experienced such 'manifestations'---which are gifts from Him---do share that---write to me at the email ID: nksrinivasan at hotmail dot com.... We shall respond and broadcast!
